GASP! Goodbye Bacon!

Those that know us well, know we are foodies.  So when they read my last blog post they wanted to know why on earth we would give up pork and seafood.  Here is the answer and gosh I was nervous writing this.  Once I was finished writing it was like a weight lifted off my shoulders.  I can't tell you how good it felt to let it out.  It's almost like we have been keeping a secret because we didn't know how to communicate the changes we made and why we made them.

Thank You Covid!

Covid-19.  A term that makes most of us shutter at this point.  Two weeks to flatten the curve has turned into over 6 months of complete life altering changes.  Depending on where you live will determine just how badly 2020 has scarred you.  For our family things were especially difficult.  Both my parents got covid and to top it off they got it in the beginning of the pandemic when seemingly no one knew what they were doing.  Additionally, we happen to live in a state that was locked down more severely than others.  Sometimes my need-to know personality gets the best of me in situations like this.  I basically turned into a research obsessed insomniac.  I wanted to know...

That Croissant Donut Thing!

A few years ago we heard about this amazing creation that crossed a donut and croissant.   The Cronut was introduced on May 10, 2013 at Ansel's bakery, Dominique Ansel Bakery, in New York's Soho neighborhood.  These not so little treats were so popular you would find a line wrapped around the block at this bakery every morning.  They are a labor of love- and it was a once they are gone, they are gone situation.  We might frequent NYC now for business but at the time we were not going to NYC for any reason.  I knew that I would likely never get to try one, but I sure could try to make them myself! United we stand- Divided we fall

I’m just gonna say it. I am not ok right now. This does not make me a weak person- it makes me human. Social media is currently buzzing with quarantine memes, messages of hate and “conspiracy theories”. But all I see is the same thing- people are just like me- they are not ok. Everything I just listed is simply how they are coping with their current reality. Our world has changed- like permanently. No, we are not going to be in this shutdown forever; but the impact on our world will linger for a very long time.
